Palworld Host Save Fixer

Fix the "create a new character" bug when moving a Palworld save between co-op and a dedicated server, by transplanting the player GUID.

1. Add your save

Drag your save folder here

Drop the whole SaveGames folder to pick a world by name, or just one world folder. A .zip works too.

Finding your world save

Steam / co-op client:

  1. Open File Explorer and go to %LocalAppData%\Pal\Saved\SaveGames.
  2. Add that whole folder, or open your Steam ID folder and add just the world you want.
  3. A world folder is the one holding Level.sav and a Players folder.

Dedicated server: same folder shape, under Pal/Saved/SaveGames/0/<world folder>.

Adding the whole SaveGames folder is fine: every world in it is listed by its in-game name and you pick the one to fix. Backups and autosave copies are ignored. A single world folder works too, or Level.sav plus the Players files.

How this works

Palworld generates a player GUID differently depending on the server type (co-op, Windows dedicated, Linux dedicated). Moving a save between them leaves the new server's GUID pointing at an empty character. This tool copies your old character's save data onto the new GUID so the new server recognizes it as the same player.
